Game Recap

The Indian’s varsity improved to 2-0 on the young season in a thrilling 9-8 overtime victory over St. Rita (IL) Friday night.

After falling behind 5-2 heading into halftime and losing senior attackmen Scott Smith and Nick Riboni to injuries, the team rallied in the third quarter narrowing the score to 6-5 heading into the final quarter.

The Tribe traded goals with St. Rita through the 4th quarter. Junior Connor Crawford scored the tying goal in regulation with 23 seconds left in the game. In overtime, Senior Kieran McKenna scored the game winner on a solo goal to give the Indian’s the victory.

The offense was paced by Junior Cole Wright who provided 5 assists while the defense held St. Rita to just 3 goals in the second half.
