Gumpf Drives In Four As South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV Defeats South Bend Adams

South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV defeated South Bend Adams 20-4 on Monday thanks in part to Brady Gumpf, who drove in four runners. Gumpf drove in runs on a home run in the first, a double in the fourth, and a walk in the sixth.

South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV earned the victory despite allowing South Bend Adams to score four runs in the first inning. South Bend Adams’s big inning was driven by a error and a single by Kajzer.

South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV took an early lead in the first inning. Brady Gumpf drove in two when he homered in the first inning.

In the bottom of the first inning, South Bend Adams tied things up at four. South Bend Adams scored one run when Kajzer singled with two outs in the first inning.

South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third there was an error, scoring one run.

South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV scored nine runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a triple by Aiden Short, a passed ball , a single by Seth Snyder, a walk by Gumpf, a single by Garrett Stefanek, and a single by Surf Shadowy.

AJ Klimek earned the win for South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV. He tossed three innings, surrendering four runs, four hits, and striking out one. Two relievers helped South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV close out the victory. Snyder threw two innings. Aker took the loss for South Bend Adams. He threw one-third of an inning, giving up eight runs, and three hits.
Winston started the game for South Bend Adams. He pitched two innings, surrendering four runs, two hits, and striking out one.
