South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV Defeats Lakeland, 9-4
South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV took home a 9-4 victory over Lakeland on Saturday.
Lakeland took an early lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first inning AJ Poe drove in two runs when he singled.
South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV took the lead for good with six runs in the third inning. In the third Jeremy Klima singled off of Poe, driving in one run, Poe induced Michael Schroeder to ground out, but one run scored, Anthony Kleva doubled off of Poe, driving in two runs, and Poe uncorked a wild pitch, scoring one run.
Seth Snyder earned the win for South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV. He pitched two innings, allowing one run, one hit, and striking out three. Schroeder recorded the last six outs to earn the save for South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV. Kole Lounsbury took the loss for Lakeland. He tossed one inning, allowing zero runs, zero hits, striking out one, and walking zero.
Garrett Stefanek started the game for South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV. He tossed three innings, giving up two runs, two hits, and striking out four. Poe started the game for Lakeland. He threw five innings, giving up nine runs, eight hits, and striking out three.
Klima and Kleva each drove in two runs to lead South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV.
Poe led Lakeland with three runs batted in. He went 2-for-4 on the day.
