South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV Loses Lead Early In Defeat
South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 15-2 loss to Penn on Friday. Penn scored on a fielder’s choice by Kegan Hoskins, a triple by Camryn Szynski, and a single by Brendon Denaway in the first inning.
Penn took an early lead in the first inning. Kegan Hoskins hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.
Penn scored five runs in the fourth inning. Penn’s big inning was driven by a single by Kyle Miller, a single by Beau Ludwick, and a walk by Adam Hummel.
Ludwick earned the win for Penn. He went five innings, allowing two runs, three hits, striking out three, and walking zero. Michael Schroeder took the loss for South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV. He pitched three innings, giving up ten runs, nine hits, and striking out one.
Brady Gumpf, AJ Klimek, and Aidan Short each collected one hit to lead South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV.
Penn had 13 hits in the game. Camryn Szynski, Miller, Brendon Denaway, Ludwick, and Hayden Berg each collected multiple hits for Penn.
