The tough JV squad fought hard and never quit in a challenging game on Saturday. Unfortunately, the breaks went against the Indians and the St. Joe boys fell short against Elkhart Central.

Game Summary

1Q

Elkhart Central was able to get to the edge of the St. Joe defense and give the Blazers an early lead in the first quarter.

2Q

The Indians rebounded with a field goal by Patrick Oliva, but the Blazers were able to get down the field and score again making it 12-3 at the half.

3Q

The Blazers had a big play to get into the red zone and was able to score again. The 2-point conversion made it 20-3 at the end of the quarter.

4Q

The feisty Indians squad would not quit and Kenzel Kelly was able to score on a pass from Evan Price with under four minutes to play. The two-point attempt was stuffed, however, leaving the good guys down by 9. The Indians executed a perfect onside kick and then drove again, but had a turnover inside the Elkhart 20 with two minutes to go. A tough defensive stop gave the Indians the ball back with less than a minute to go. Unfortunately, the Indians could not make it back to the end zone and the game ended 20-9.
