5 St. Joe runners ran season best times at the IHSAA Regional Saturday.
For the girls, both Maeve O’Shaugnessy and Lauren Rymsza ran lifetime bests in 22:46 and 22:56 respectively.
The boys team locked in a tight eight team race for four Semistate spots. Amani Morrell won the individual Regional title in a time of 16:18 to record his 6th meet championship of the season. Bill Powers ran a solid 17:14, Joe Deahl ran an inspired lifetime best 17:21, and Saul Garcia anchored the solid foursome with a 17:29 performance. Peter Amat closed the scoring for St. Joe with a lifetime best 18:45 closely followed by Dillon Blank in 18:50, and Gabe Kloski in 18:51. The Indians posted a season best average team time of 17:25 but missed qualifying by 11 points- less than 2 seconds per person.
Morrell will run in next week’s IHSAA Semistate at IPFW Saturday-1 pm EST.
