Two Pitchers Team Up as South Bend St. Joseph Indians Varsity Defeats New Prairie in Shut-Out
South Bend St. Joseph Indians Varsity defeated New Prairie 4-0 on Wednesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Michael Schroeder induced a fly out from Evan Knowlton to finish off the game.
South Bend St. Joseph Indians Varsity got things started in the first inning. Brady Gumpf tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Michael Dunkelberger led the South Bend St. Joseph Indians Varsity to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He lasted six innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out 12 and walking one. Schroeder threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
South Bend St. Joseph Indians Varsity tallied six hits in the game. Kerry Zeese, Gumpf, and Nick Dolniak all collected multiple hits for South Bend St. Joseph Indians Varsity.
