The Indians traveled to the Rock Pile in Plymouth for the second round of the sectional playoffs to battle the Rockies. Plymouth jumped out to a quick lead with a drive featuring a long pass and a 2 yard touchdown run. Then Plymouth hit on their next possession with an 82 yard bubble pass that scored.
The defense then clamped down, not yielding a point for the next 30 minutes. Mattux Tarwacki recovered a fumble and set up the Indians’ first score when Matt Eck hit Patrick Driscoll on a 19 yard post. The extra point was blocked. Then John Driscoll picked off a Plymouth pass to take the Indians into halftime down 14-6.
The Indians took the ball to open the 3rd quarter, scoring on another Eck to Driscoll combo with a beautiful dig route. The 2 point conversion attempt came up short and it was 14-12.
The stalemate ended when Plymouth got the ball with short field and drove 38 yards to go up by 9 and time running fast in the last five minutes. Fighting for life the Indians gave their all, but could not make up the difference. The Rockies got the ball back and scored again with 3 minutes to go. Saint Joe worked their way inside the 20, but a turnover sealed the game.
Great effort was demonstrated by the Indians this night. They played for their brethren, for their school, and for the glory of God. Thank you to the football Class of 2019. Your legacy endures in our hearts forever. Remember: Once an Indian, always an Indian. God Bless, and Roll Tribe!
