The St. Joe Lady Indians endured another tough contest last night to overcome the Cougars of New Prairie 138 to 47. As always, New Prairie defended their home waters well by showing with numbers that easily make them one of the largest swim programs in our conference. St. Joe was able to prevail due to a total team effort driven mostly by outstanding efforts of the sophomore class. Notable performances: Abby Feltzer/ Elena Parial in the 200 free, Maggie Barrett in the 50 free, Lauren Pieniazkiewicz/ Ryan Drew/ Rebecca Pan in the 100 fly, Alyssa Kerkman in the 100 free, Emma Feltzer in the 500 free, Lydia Schaeffer in the 100 back, and Evie Sierra/ Mary Cate Pruitt in the 100 breast. The Indians will face their arch-rival Marian on Tuesday. Please come out and support these hard-working student-athletes as they strive towards their dream of a 2018 IHSAA State Championship.
