The Indians started the night with a strong drive ending in a 15 yard touchdown pass from Ashton Ruszkowski to John Paul Lewis. Patrick Oliva converted on the kick.
In the second quarter, Mishawaka answered with a two yard touchdown run to tie the game. St. Joe responded and scored again through the air when Ruszkowski hit Austin Lee from 35 out. Again, Oliva kicked the extra point. Indians went into the half up by a touchdown.
The Cavemen came back in their opening drive of the half with a 5 yard touchdown run. Once again the score was tied. St. Joe quickly scored again when Ruszkowski threw his third touchdown pass to a third receiver, Conor Ratigan. Oliva kicked his third extra point. Mishawaka scored again on a short run, but Gavin Stefanek blocked the extra point keeping St. Joe in front by the slimmest of margins.
In the fourth quarter, St. Joe opened a slightly wider lead when Oliva kicked a 37 yard field goal, and the Indians were up by 4. Mishawaka moved back down the field with a half-back pass and scored a touchdown on a 1 yard run. The Cavemen went for two points, but were stopped short, and Mishawaka was up by 2 points. St. Joe got the ball back with less than 3 minutes and moved to the Mishawaka 35 yard line, but the field goal fell short and Mishawaka won by 2 points in another intense match against a ranked opponent.
