South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 4-1 loss to Penn on Tuesday. Penn scored on an error, a double by Ryne Buckley, and a sacrifice fly by Brooks Jones in the first inning.

Penn got on the board in the first inning. An error scored one run for Penn.

Kyle Riffel was the winning pitcher for Penn. He surrendered zero runs on two hits over three innings, striking out two. Ryan Plummer and Hunter Mrozinski entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Plummer recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Penn.

Frank Pennino took the loss for South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV. He lasted six innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out two.

Ryan Wieneke, Gavin Stefanek, Jack Quinn, and Pennino each collected one hit to lead South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV.

Penn racked up six hits. Hoskins and Buckley each collected multiple hits for Penn.
