In their game against the Saint Joe Indians, Penn showed why they are so highly ranked in the state standings. Their offensive fire combined with a nearly impenetrable defense to keep the Indians to their lowest-scoring game of the season. Saint Joe came out with confidence in the first quarter, but it faded as the noise in the gym at Penn grew with the Lady Kingsmen’s lead. Sarah Hiestand went to the foul line 11 times for the Indians, and made nine free throws on her way to 15 points, leading the scoring for Saint Joe. Kelly Ratigan followed with 11 points, despite the three point shots not falling as they usually do. Saint Joe walked out of the locker room with a loss, but not defeated, and look forward to playing at Goshen on Tuesday.
