South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV snagged a late lead and defeated New Prairie 8-7 on Monday. The game was tied at six with South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV batting in the bottom of the fifth when Kyle Tupper singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

New Prairie scored four runs in the first inning, but South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV still managed to pull out the victory. New Prairie big bats were led by Adam Borror and Rylan McBride, all driving in runs in the inning.

New Prairie got on the board in the first inning when Zach Trojanowski singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Frank Pennino was the winning pitcher for South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV. He surrendered one run on zero hits over two and a third innings. Jared Cain threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Cain recorded the last out to earn the save for South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV.

Jacob Hannon took the loss for New Prairie. He surrendered three runs on five hits over two innings, walking one.

Evan Warner started the game for New Prairie. He allowed six hits and five runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one Ryan Wieneke started the game for South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV. He went three and a third innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and striking out two.

South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV collected 11 hits on the day. Breydon Zielinski, Pennino, and Tupper all had multiple hits for South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV. Zielinski went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead South Bend St. Joseph Indians JV in hits.

New Prairie racked up seven hits on the day. Trojanowski, Spencer Nielson, and Brendan Daisy each had multiple hits for New Prairie.
