The St. Joseph Boys Soccer team won the Marian hosted IHSAA 2a Regional Championship in style by beating West Lafayette 4 – 0. The scoring was opened up by Gian Marco Frassineti on an unassisted goal from about 25 yds out in which the West Lafayette goalie had no time to react. With the goal, the St. Joseph team was awakened and never looked back. When the scoring was done, four different players had scored for St. Joseph.
The win brought about the first Regional Championship following the ten (10) consecutive sectional championships (2010 – 2019).
The last time St. Joseph won a regional (2003) the IHSAA had only one class. St. Joseph went on to win the state championship with a 24-0 record.
